A Note to Parents
Our teaching is biblically based with an exciting and entertaining video curriculum. Each week we discuss a main idea, Bible verse, Bible story, and Bible characters using skits with puppets or our mascot Rover Comer the Dog. Our teachers are passionate about sharing the Word with children. This is not a babysitting service. We help children understand the Bible stories by acting them out with costumes or using object lessons.
Our worship is powerful and fun. Since children need lots of active participation, we have energized songs projected on a big screen. Along with creative actions, we will sing, shout, and dance. We also take time to pray for others’ needs and sing prayerful songs to the Lord.
Our children are trained up to be servants and leaders. We help them to develop their gifts and talents through ministry. They run our sound/video booth; they are worship leaders on stage; they develop characters through puppet ministry; and they help to mentor the younger children.
Our games are interactive so the kids can have fun playing while further instilling the main point.

FROM THE MOMENT YOU DRIVE ONTO THE CLA CAMPUS, you’ll know you belong here! Our helpful and welcoming First Impressions Team—from our Parking Lot Attendants to our Greeters to the Holy Grounds crew—we’re here to let you know this is a family of friends.
PARKING LOT ATTENDANTS. The guys in the orange vests make it easy for you to get in the door by helping you unload the van full of children, walk in an elderly grandparent, or even just help you find a place to park.
GREETERS. Arrive at the front door and you’re greeted with a warm smile, a handshake, and the information you need to navigate CLA. We’ll offer you a building tour and help get your children to the right classrooms. If you have a question, we're the people to ask! Our goal is to have a familiar face at the door so you feel right at home.
HOLY GROUNDS. Hungry? Thirsty? Stop by the Holy Grounds for some friendly chat, a fresh donut, and something good to drink.
WANT TO BE PART OF THIS FUN AND FULFILLING MINISTRY? We start saying "howdy" 30-40 minutes before each service and stay to tidy up for about 15 minutes after each service.

At Christian Life Assembly, we believe in the safety and health of every child in our care. Our experienced nursery workers are here for you and your family. You can feel confident in knowing that your child is being cared for in a nurturing and safe environment. They will experience the love of Jesus as we pray for them, speak life into them, and love them as Christ loves us. Diapers will always be changed and any instructions you bring with your child will be followed accordingly. Your child is our ministry, and we thank you for allowing us to care for them.
Peace of Mind
If a problem should arise during the service, our pager system is designed to offer you peace of mind. The well-being of your child is our number one priority, and we will contact you immediately with questions or concerns.
Wellness Nursery
It would bless us to care for your child every Sunday, but we do ask that you refrain from bringing them to the nursery if they have exhibited any of the following symptoms:
- Fever within the past 24 hours
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
- Sore throat
- Undiagnosed rash
- Yellow/green drainage from the nose
- Pink eye and other eye infections
- Earache
- Head lice (child should be free of all nits)
- Ongoing cough
TODDLERS ARE TOPS @ CLA!
EARLY CHILDHOOD2-3 years old and 4-5 years old
Every Sunday, 10 a.m.| Wednesdays, during small groups and prayer, 7 p.m.
Peer through one-way windows into our classrooms dedicated to early childhood, and you’ll discover a room full of children abounding with joy, pauses of wonder, and peals of laughter and singing. Lovingly guided by a lead teacher and volunteers, our preschoolers grow in God’s love through hands-on experiences that include story-telling and activity centers. All lessons and activities are designed to teach godly character through Bible stories and the application of God’s Word.
Our mission is to partner with families to provide a spiritual foundation for children that will last a lifetime.

TREE OF LIFE
Homeless Ministry
If you have a heart for individuals without homes, consider being a part of CLA’s Tree of Life ministry. This important outreach provides friendship and meets the practical needs of those living along the rivers in Des Moines. While help delivering meals and provisions is needed, you can also participate by donating much-needed items, such as clothing, blankets, candles, toiletries, and other necessities.
