Our Values

Matthew 22:36-39
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Focus. Jesus really couldn’t be any clearer in giving us this directive, could he? Love God. Love people. At Christian Life Assembly, we are committed to doing just that: Loving God. Loving others. As we fully commit our hearts and minds to living out these commands, we fulfill God’s purpose for the church.
Worship. Expressing our love and devotion to God is more than just singing and meeting in a church building (although those moments are essential). Worship is a mindset. An attitude. It is about being who we are in Christ. All aspects of our daily walk with Jesus spring from hearts and minds fixed on God. As we live life together, focused on worshipping God and loving one another, we’ll flourish as the church did in Acts 2.
Acts 2:42-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Connect. As we do life together, we begin to look beyond ourselves and really see others and their needs. Our relationships strengthen and we experience “glad and sincere hearts.”
Serve. When compassionate people follow the Lord, one of the fruits they exhibit are hearts filled with the desire to serve. In serving others, we are also leading by our example. Matthew 20:28 tell us: “…just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Grow. Christian discipleship is the process by which disciples grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit. When Jesus gave us the picture of the vine and branches (John 15:1-8), it immediately became obvious we’re not talking about a one-time event. Discipleship is a process. The Lord oversees the process, is in the process, and is the process. The result, or fruit, of this process is growth.
Go. As we worship, connect, serve and grow, we long to follow Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19-20—“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
